1. Complete the combined Human Investigation Committee (HIC) application and the GCRC Protocol Template by logging into the IRB Online website.   If this is your first protocol submission you will need to click on the "Request Account" link before you can access the IRB Protocol Builder..
2. Your completed protocol must be approved by the GCRC prior to submission to the HIC.
3. Email your completed protocol template and consent form(s) to GCRCprotocols@virginia.edu
4. If you have questions you can contact Helena Estes-Johnson, HIC Coordinator, at hve5r@virginia.edu or  Lynne Simpson, GCRC Protocol Nurse Manager, at lss2f@virginia.edu
5. The GCRC Executive Secretary will notify you of the date of the GCRC Advisory Committee review.
