The Metabolic Research Kitchen provides the University of Virginia General Clinical Research Center (GCRC) with a full-time bionutritionist, and three metabolic chefs. The research kitchen is designed to provide all clinical research subjects with meals scheduled and prepared in accordance to the studies specifications. Our research kitchen offers gourmet regular meals, therapeutic, constant, metabolically balanced, controlled nutrient, and weighed diets for protocols from multiple disciplines such as surgery, endocrinology, gastroenterology, allergy and immunology, nephrology, and neurology. The research kitchen staff is responsible for maintaining scientific accuracy when preparing these meals.
