We have recently acquired the Olympus BX51 high magnification microscope, formerly housed in ACHS. The microscope is equipped with a Olympus DP70 digital camera (12 Megapixel; produces color images up to 4030 x 3070) connected to a computer with Photoshop and Image-Pro software available for image manipulation and analysis.
The instrument has two built in neutral density filters and a daylight balancing filter. It has bright halogen illumination for transmitted light (brightfield), and is also capable of performing darkfield, Phase Contrast, DIC polarization and fluorescence. The instrument is equipped with an HBO lamp and dichroic filters for imaging DAPI, FITC and TRITC.
Objectives: The microscope is equipped with Plan 2x/0.05, UPlan F1 4x/0.13, UPlan F1 10x/0.30, UPlan F1 20x/0.50, UPlan F1 40x/0.75 and UPlan F1 100x/1.30 oil lenses.
