Ongoing: Attend Monthly Med 1 Lunches with the Director or an Associate Director,  Annual Retreat, Monthly Research in Progress, Seminars, and Physician-Scientist Advisory Committee meeting, and complete annual Progress Report

Fall and Spring Curriculum:

  • Clinical Performance Development, adapted to MSTP

MSTP Classes in Pathology Department:

  • Molecular Basis of Human Diseases (Fall and Spring)
  • MSTP Journal Club (Spring)
  • Summer research rotation both before and after Med 1
  • Organize Advisory Committee

Med 2 | Year 2

Med 2 | Year 2

Ongoing: Attend Monthly Med 2 Lunches with the Director or an Associate Director, the Annual Retreat, monthly Research in Progress, Seminars, and Physician-Scientist Advisory Committee meeting, and complete annual Progress ReportCardiovascular System

  • Fall Curriculum:
    - Pulmonary System
    - Renal System
    - Endocrine/Reproductive System
    - Hematology System
  • Spring Curriculum:
    - Clinical Performance Development
    - Take USMLE
    - Clerkships begin
    - Possible Research Rotation and Grad Classes

Complete all requirements for the PhD including research, dissertation and defense

Consult with School of Medicine, MSTP Associate Directors, and MSTP Transition Committee to plan transition back into clinics

Med 3-4 | Year 7-8

These are the last 2 years:

  • Complete 15 months of clerkships (required/elective)
  • Begin interviewing for residency positions
