Robert Johnston
Although I was born and raised in Oklahoma, I am proud to say I graduated from the University of Texas in 2003. After receiving my degree in Psychology, I moved to Boston for three years to work with Wediko Children's Services - a non-profit organization serving children with emotional and behavioral problems. My wife Amanda and I met as staff members at Wediko, and found we share a similar passion for working with youth and their families. I couldn't help but follow her to Charlottesville, where we've been since 2006. I continued to work in in the mental health field until deciding a degree in medicine fit my interests and goals best. I plan to enter a residency in Family Medicine, Pediatrics, or Psychiatry. My research interests include the screening and treatment of PTSD in primary care settings.
Outside of school I am an avid hunter and fisherman, enjoy listening to music, and making barbecue. Amanda and I are also anxiously awaiting our first child, due to arrive in March 2011.
