Era Kryzhanovskaya
Hello! I am Era Kryzhanovskaya, and I am an excited
double Hoo. I was born in Kiev, Ukraine and moved to Charlottesville,
VA in 1992. I have stayed in this glorious mini-city ever since, doing
my undergraduate education at UVA (Anthropology major, Biology minor)
and now continuing the Thomas Jefferson path for medical school. More
specifically, after observing the work of local geriatricians, my
grandmother's own experience in the medical world, and the growing need
for senior care, I was excited about the prospect of pursuing geriatric
primary care within the context of the Generalist Scholars Program.
Since starting at UVA SOM, I am very enthusiastic about and thankful
for the mentorship, education, and unique lens that GSP has offered.
Finally, I hope to explore elderly patient activation (self-efficacy in
health management), especially trying to tease out what demographics or
issues have been noted to influence activation levels, for my senior
thesis.
