- On-line Testing System. (J Short) The on-line testing system
is available to all courses. Please contact John Jackson's office at
least one week before you want to use the system. The system has been
used successfully by Microbiology and Biochemistry.
- Clocks in Jordan Hall Classrooms and Lobby. (J Short) The
Colorado Atomic Clocks ordered for Jordan Hall have been returned
because of insurmountable difficulties in placement and calibration.
Bruce Shifflett who monitors the electronic equipment in the Jordan
Hall lecture halls will synchronize (reset) the original clocks on a
weekly basis.
- New Conference Room in MR5. (J Short) Negotiations are
ongoing regarding availability of three conference rooms in MR5 for
medical education when the building opens in January, 2002. The rooms
will probably be available for educational needs Monday - Thursday
afternoons and Fridays from 10:00 a.m. until noon.
- Preceptorship Information Sessions. The committee agreed
that a Friday 1-2 sessions would be the optimal time for Claudette
Dalton to meet with the second year students regarding their
preceptorship. Darci Lieb will work out the details with Claudette
Dalton. It was strongly recommended that Brian Wispelwey be present to
introduce the topic and Dr. Dalton to the students on the two Friday
afternoon information sessions.
- Scheduling Issues. The Committee discussed the following:
- a) Scheduling of Anatomy Lab on the same day of exam
- b) Proposal to schedule classes on Mon-Tues of Thanksgiving week
2002-03
- c) Attendance issues around the three fall exam schedule for first
year students 2001-02
- d) Anatomy request for more teaching time in the fall schedule
(earlier August start date)
Beginning in January, the first year course directors will meet to work
out first year scheduling issues and the second year course directors
will meet to work out second year issues for the 2002-03 year. Bob
Bloodgood will organize a meeting of the first year course directors.
Don Innes will organize the second year meeting. Both groups were
encouraged to strive for more integration between their courses.
