- 2003 Student Ski Trip. The 2003 student ski trip should not
impact class attendance on Friday, 1/10/03 as most students will not
leave until after noon when classes are over.
- Handouts. Comparison prices were obtained from ALC, UVA Copy
Center, and ALC. ALC will copy the second year handouts at a cost of 3
cents/page with no mark up for distribution fees. ALC will deliver the
handouts to Jordan Hall on the first day of class. Thereafter, students
may purchase handouts directly from ALC at their business office. Paul
McIntosh will collect money from the students who want to purchase a
handout and determine how many will be delivered on the first day of
class. Originals must be delivered to Julie Turner by the first week of
December in either hard copy of electronic format. The possiblity of
incorporating handout costs into tuition as an additional fee will be
explored for subsequent years. [Note: Later permission granted from
Dean allowing departments to pay for handouts if funds were
available.]
- Lecture time limits. There have been problem lately with
lecturers who begin late and/or end their lectures late. Course
directors should inform lecturers in their course that time limits must
be strictly observed. Lecturers who have a two hour time block should
take a 10 minute break at some point during the lecture.
- The next meeting of the Principles of Medicine Committee will be
December 11, 2002, 1:30 p.m. in Jordan 1-17. Virginia Taylor
will present information on the teaching elective.
