- Disaster Preparedness. A Clinical Connection session in the
Spring of 2002 will be devoted to disaster preparedness. Dr. Reid Adams
has begun work on organizing the session, plans of which, although
incomplete, will likely include a review of biologic and neurologic
agents, management of acute and chronic stress disorders, emergency
triage and possibly microbiologic mechanisms of toxins. Committee
members were urged to submit content suggestions to Reid Adams.
- Neurology Clerkship Review. (Vern Juel) Dr. Juel gave an
excellent presentation assessing the Neurology Clerkship. The report
outlined the clerkship's goals, objectives, grading policies, and
patient contact information. Analysis of new initiatives tried in the
course during the previous year and outcome data was presented.
Assessment data from student evaluations was provided.
An informative discussion followed. Following further discussion the
committee will communicate with the course director, Dr. Juel.
