- Practice of Medicine-1 Assessment. (Eve Bargmann, John
Gazewood) Drs. Bargmann and Gazewood presented an excellent report
assessing the PoM-1 course. Assessment data from student evaluations
was provided. The information was critiqued and summarized. Hard copies
of the PoM-1 report were distributed to the committee. Recommendations
and proposals for the 2001-2002 course were discussed. Following
further deliberation the committee will communicate a response to the
course director to continue the dialogue.
- Histograms of Grades for the Class of 2003 Years 1 & 2
were distributed to the committee. These show a range of "A"s from 29 -
68.1% of the class; of "B"s from 28.5 - 57.1% of the class; of "C"s
from 17.1 - 0.7% of the class. Only 5 courses gave a "D" grade to 0.7 -
1.5% (1 or 2 students).
- Clerkship evaluations will begin this fall, September 2001.
An evaluation form requesting information from clerkship directors,
students and clerkship attendings is being developed. We plan to
distribute it in July with reviews to begin in September for Family
Medicine, Medicine & AIM, Neurology, Ob/Gyn, Pediatrics,
Psychiatric Medicine and Surgery.
- Summary sheets of student evaluation data for the
Neuroscience course was distributed. An updated graph of first year
course evaluations was also distributed.
- The Human Behavior review will take place next week, June
28, 2001.
