progress in the development and planning phase for a School of Medicine
education building.
- PoM-2. Brian Wispelwey outlined the proposed changes to
PoM-2 for the Academic Year 2001-2001 (See below). The proposals
include increased instruction in physical examination skills,
continuing the progress of PoM-1 and incorporation of the second year
preceptorship into the PoM-2 experience. He proposed a physician
clinical mentor for all 2nd year students and an increase in the weekly
tutorial session time from two to three hours.
Increase instruction on physical examination skills continuing the
progress of PoM-1. The skills should be practiced and enhanced as PoM-2
progresses.
The second year preceptorship should be incorporated into PoM-2 as a
required part of the PoM-2 experience.
Case breadth should be broadened. The use of radiology images, ECG
tracings, and microscopic and other clinical images is encouraged
whenever possible.
- Nelle Linz was introduced as the new Mulholland President and
student representative on the Curriculum Committee. Also introduced was
her guest, David Shonka, class of 2004.
