Major Discussion Points:
- Presented draft of presentation to be given on October 8th to the Curriculum Committee: Comments were supportive and varied. Topics/questions included:
a. What type of Impact questions are we interested in? What do we mean by "better?" Would Maintenance of Certification data help inform Impact level questions?
b. Long term tracking is a huge challenge, should we look more closely at the Jefferson model?
c. Move forward on the continuation of the Well-Being survey.
d. How many people change their residency? Should we track this? What would this tell us? Should we track verification calls that Allison Innes receives?
Introduction of the Concerns Based Adoption Model (CBAM)and two of its tools: the Stages of Concern Survey and the Innovation Configuration. The JIAMSE article describing the use the Stages of Concern survey during curriculum reform is on Collab.
The Perioperative and Acute Care Medicine clinical skill study idea is moving forward. The next step is piloting 4 OSCE cases with current 4 year students. It was suggested to offer time in the SIM center as an incentive for participation.
The discussion of the Tam Skills Scale was put on hold until Tina Brashears can participate, as she is leading this initiative with the IPE working group.
Next Steps: Garner feedback on the draft Evaluation Plan from the Curriculum Committee; consider use of the Innovation Configuration and the Stages of Concern tools.
Action Items (Person(s) responsible):
