Richard D. Pearson, M.D.
Dr. Pearson holds appointments in the Departments of Medicine and Pathology. He is also senior associate dean for education in the School of Medicine.
Dr. Pearson received his undergraduate and medical degrees from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Michigan. He completed his internship and residency in internal medicine and fellowship in infectious disease at the University of Rochester in Richester, New York.
Dr. Pearson's research interests focus on the immunology and immunogenetics of visceral leishmaniasis and the prevention of blood and body fluid exposures among healthcare workers.
Dr. Pearson's most recent publications include papers and chapters on travel and tropical medicine, parasitic diseases, the immunopathogenesis of visceral leishmaniasis, healthcare worker safety and global health education for medical students. See PubMed Listings for Dr. Pearson.
