Kimberly received her Bachelors degree in nursing from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania in May 1993. She began her career as a staff nurse on a Medical/Surgical floor at Millcreek Community Hospital in Pennsylvania. She later moved to Charleston, South Carolina to work at the Medical University of South Carolina on their Telemetry/Step-Down unit and later in the Coronary Care Unit. Kimberly left MUSC in August 1997 and became a traveling nurse, where she continued to work in Intensive Care Units at the Cleveland Clinic, Phoenix memorial Hospital, and Stanford Hospital and Clinics. Kimberly relocated to the University of Virginia in 2001 and worked in the Surgical/Trauma/Burn Intensive Care Unit as a staff member and charge nurse until joining the Surgical Therapeutic Advancement Center in October 2008. Since joining STAC, Kimberly has been involved with the screening, recruitment, and data collection for our cardiac surgery clinical trials.
