Douglas Spaulding began his career working as a Licensed Practical Nurse in 2001 throughout West Virginia and Virginia. He later received his Associate degree in nursing from Excelsior College in 2003. He accepted a position at the University of Virginia Health System in June 2003 working for the Acute and Critical Care Float Pool. After working there for 4 years, Doug accepted a position on the Thoracic and Cardiovascular step-down unit in a staff nurse/leadership position. In May 2011, Doug joined the team in the Surgical Therapeutic Advancement Center as a Clinical Research Coordinator. He is responsible for conducting screening and recruitment, data management, and subject follow up in primarily endovasular device trials with Vascular surgery and Interventional Radiology.
