Brigitte received her associate’s degree in nursing from Piedmont Community College of North Carolina in 1994. She began her career in Greensboro, North Carolina as a staff nurse, working with geriatric patients, including those with Alzheimer’s and those who required long term rehabilitation. From there, Brigitte joined the Pitt County Memorial Hospital as a staff nurse focusing on rehabilitation of patients recovering from acute stroke, spinal cord injury, and traumatic brain injury. In 2001, Brigitte made her way to the University of Virginia where she worked as a staff nurse and shift manager on units specializing in the care of high acuity medical and surgical patients. In 2006, she explored various units of UVA including transplant, neurosurgery, and the emergency room as a staff nurse in the acute care float pool. Prior to joining the STAC team in 2011, she worked as a nurse in Interventional Radiology assisting patients undergoing angiographic procedures. Since joining STAC, Brigitte has been involved in the recruitment, screening, and follow up for various device trials in Interventional Radiology.
