A Welcome from Dr. Irving Kron:

I am delighted to provide this webpage for the members of the Muller Jones Surgical Society.  We look forward to using this space along with our new Facebook page to keep you informed of updated information concerning the UVA Department of Surgery and up-coming events.

The Next MJSS Meeting

Within the next few weeks, we will be using this page to provide you with information regarding our next meeting, set for April 11 through April 13, 2013.  We are working diligently to bring you a dynamic meeting agenda, along with some side fun for you and your family.  Please check our website often for updates, as well as Facebook "Muller Jones".

Our annual Resident Research Day will take place on Thursday April 11.  All MJSS members are invited to attend all or any part of this day, including the evening’s dinner at the Colonnade Club.

On Friday April 12, we will organize OR observations in the morning, followed by presentations from our keynote speaker, Dr. Selwyn Vickers from the University of Minnesota.  We are also organizing a side trip to Montpelier during the daytime for any spouses or family members.  As is normal with our meetings, there will be a black tie (optional) dinner to end the day at the Boar’s Head Inn, where Dr. R. Scott Jones will present a tribute to Dr. Muller.

Saturday’s plans are for a half day of clinical presentations.  We are also excited to have a commitment from Larry Sabato, who will present a portion of “Sabato’s Crystal Ball”, a nationally recognized program in state wide and national politics.  The afternoon will host a picnic for everyone at the Boar’s Head. We are also looking out for any possible UVA games which might be going on that day.

The meeting information and registration announcement should be coming to your mailbox.  Please plan your travel and hotel arrangements soon.

Dr. William H. Muller

Finally, as you are all aware, Dr. Muller passed away on April 19 after a short illness.  His Memorial Service took place in Charlottesville, and was well attended by his many friends and admirers.    You can read Dr. Muller’s obituary here.

Please plan to join us in Charlottesville in April.  We look forward to seeing you for a great meeting, here, at the University of Virginia.

Sincerely,

Irving L. Kron, M.D.
