Mission Statement
The mission of the Radiation Therapy Program is consistent with that
of the University of Virginia Health System—to provide excellence and innovation in the
care of patients, the training of health professionals and the creation
and sharing of health knowledge.
The program is designed to develop competent, entry-level
Radiation Therapists and to provide the community with graduates who
will continue to pursue excellence in the care of patients.
Program Goals
- To provide a didactic and clinical education consistent with the
current ASRT Radiation Therapy Professional
Curriculum.
- To foster ethical standards consistent with the ARRT® Standards of
Ethics.
- To promote the development of critical thinking and written and
verbal communication skills.
- To encourage students to continue their professional
development.
