About

Max Wintermark's research program is focused on imaging of cerebrovascular disorders, such as stroke, intracranial hemorrhage, aneurysms, vasospasm and atherosclerosis. Dr. Wintermark is applying advanced neuroimaging techniques, such as perfusion imaging, susceptibility-weighted imaging, diffusion tensor imaging, spectroscopy and functional MRI, in an effort to improve the understanding of the conditions listed above. His goal is to develop these imaging techniques in biomarkers for cerebrovascular disorders, that can be used to select patients for a specific treatment, or to monitor the efficacy of this treatment. Ultimately, Dr. Wintermark aims at individualizing the care for patients with a cerebrovascular condition, and improving their outcome.

Sugoto Mukherjee, M.D.

About

Dr. Mukherjee's special interest in Head & Neck imaging, advanced MR techniques and procedures. His primary research focus in on CT perfusion imaging in head and neck cancers. CT perfusion imaging along with other advanced functional imaging techniques such as PET and diffusion weighted MR techniques represent the next frontier in oncological imaging. He works closely with the Otolaryngology and Radiation Oncology colleagues in his clinical and research work.

Manal NicolasJilwan,
M.D.

About

Dr Nicolas Jilwan's primary research focus is MR perfusion imaging. She is primarily working on optimizing the Arterial Spin Labeling technique and implementing it in the imaging of stroke and brain tumors. This project is performed in close collaboration with Craig Meyer, Ph.D., and is funded by the Coulter Foundation.

Prashant Raghavan, M.D.

About

Dr. Raghavan’s research interests lie in the application of advanced MR techniques such as perfusion imaging, susceptibility-weighted imaging, diffusion tensor imaging, spectroscopy and functional MRI to the evaluation of malignant brain tumors and in patients with head trauma. Dr Raghavan also studies the use of MR Spectroscopy in the identification of metabolite markers that may aid in the evaluation of epilepsy. He is also involved in research on the use of CT perfusion imaging in head and neck squamous cell cancers. It is hoped that this technique will aid in the identification of those patients in home surgical treatment is warranted after radiotherapy. He also actively publishes papers and scholarly articles in the field of head and neck imaging.
