Mammography & African American Women

Mammography & African American Women

  • African-American women are more likely to die from breast cancer than Caucasian women, possibly because less African-American women have regular mammograms.  Some studies also suggest that African-American women tend to get more aggressive cancers than Caucasian women, making regular mammograms even more important.

  • Protect yourself by making an appointment at a University of Virginia location today. At the University of Virginia, we are committed to protecting all women against breast cancer.
