Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital is a large multi-specialty medical center with a 44 bed Psychiatric Medicine Service where students have an opportunity to assess and treat patients with acute neuro-behavioral disorders. The teaching programs are staffed with University of Virginia faculty. The educational programs provided by this hospital give the student a superb opportunity to experience psychiatric medicine.

Directions to Roanoke : Coming south on Interstate 581, Take 581S to Elm Avenue exit. At the light at the end of the ramp, go R and move into the L lane (not the L turn lane). At the 2^nd light, go L onto Jefferson. At the light at the bottom of the bridge in from of Roanoke Memorial Hospital, turn right and then left onto Crystal Spring Ave. The Rehab building will be on your left and the parking garage is on the right. Park in the Crystal Spring Parking Garage and walk across the street into the Rehab building. The Psychiatric Education office is on the first floor in the administrative suite, second door on the right.

Orientation: The students will be fully oriented by the site director the first day of the rotation. Dr. Rea will be spending at least 25 hours per week with each of you in inpatient and outpatient settings.
