Evaluation should be given to: Attending on
service
Attendance: Attendance at elective activities is
mandatory. With supervisor's pre-approval a student may be away no more
than 4 days during a 4-week rotation without loss of credit. Anyone who
is ill or has a personal or family emergency must contact Student
Affairs and the Attending on Service. Students are allowed to take off
up to 1 day per week to interview between November 1 and February 1.
Specific days missed must be approved by the Attending on Service.
Course Description: This course is a general
musculoskeletal rotation with special emphasis on manual
medicine/osteopathic manipulation; Worker’s Comp., and clinic-based
non-spinal procedures.
Goals: Students will see a wide variety of
musculoskeletal patients and develop a wide range of musculoskeletal
skills. They will learn how to provide care for spinal patients,
sports-related injuries and conditions requiring manual medicine. They
will also obtain a general understanding of Worker’s Comp.
patients.
