Jae K. Lee, PH.D. named Director of Biostatistics & Epidemiology
Public Health Sciences Chairman William A. Knaus, M.D., announced that Jae K. Lee, Ph.D., an Associate Professor of Biostatistics and Epidemiology, has been appointed as the new Director of the Division of Biostatistics & Epidemiology for a five year term beginning Monday January, 25, 2010.
"Jae's appointment comes after a national search process and I am delighted in the outcome," Knaus wrote in announcing the decision. "Jae brings a deep dedication to UVA along with an internationally acclaimed research program, COXEN, which, by profiling the biologic characteristics of various forms of cancer, promises to help revolutionize approaches to chemotherapy and accelerate the implementation of personalized medicine."
"Jae has exciting plans to expand the collaborations of the Division and increase its educational offerings," Knaus also wrote. "His leadership will build on the strong foundation established by (previous Director) Mark Conaway and will take the Division of Biostatics and Epidemiology to a new level."
