Welcome from Our Chair & Program Director
|
I welcome you to the University of Virginia Pediatrics Residency Program. As Chairman of our Department for the past year, I have been most impressed with our amazing residents and the close relationships they have with our dedicated faculty. Resident education is a personal priority for me, is a passion for our faculty, and is an area of institutional emphasis at The University of Virginia! We offer a comprehensive clinical experience and a wide variety of research opportunities. Our residents receive outstanding preparation for fellowship or clinical practice. I cannot imagine a better place to live and work than Charlottesville, or a better experience for residency training. Please come see for yourselves! |

Welcome to the University of Virginia Pediatrics Residency Program. Our residency offers a comprehensive pediatric education in beautiful Charlottesville. UVa is a large tertiary care center with a catchment area of over two million people. Patients from the entire Commonwealth of Virginia and beyond seek care for the expert treatment they receive. Our residents have the wonderful opportunity to learn from our diverse patient population with close supervision from our dedicated clinical faculty. We have a close esprit de corps we would like you to see for yourself, as we are a “resident” oriented program where patient care and education are our first priorities. Please review our web site for information about our residents, curriculum, and our research opportunities. We have a tremendous group of residents who go on to do incredible things throughout their residency and careers. Our program was one of the first to offer a home visit program, we have a strong advocacy program, and our residents have the opportunity for international electives during their second or third years of residency. Our residents experience a pediatric education broad in scope in a beautiful and vibrant environment. I would love to have the opportunity to meet you during interview season! |
