Pediatric Chief Residents
Hi, everyone! I grew up in Rockville, Maryland and went to the University of Maryland for college. I moved down to Charlottesville for medical school and still haven't left! During my third and fourth years of medical school, I was so impressed by the quality of faculty and residents who work here. Because of this, I stayed at UVA for residency and have been so fortunate to work with so many intelligent, motivated, and friendly people over the past three years. The residents here are really happy and committed to the program and the faculty are truly dedicated to our education.
Charlottesville is a fun place to live and has truly become "home" to me. There is so much to do around here, including hiking, mountain biking, and eating at the local restaurants. My husband and I love going on long walks along the trails with our son and tasting wine at the many local vineyards. I am excited to take on my new role as Chief Resident and look forward to giving back to such a strong program!
Hello, everybody! Greetings from the best town and residency program in America! I grew up in Mississippi and also went to college and medical school there. My husband and I journeyed north for residency here at UVA and we are thrilled to be staying for chief year and also for cardiology fellowship next year. Over the past 3 years, I have never stopped being amazed at the quality of the education provided to residents in this program. Everyone is eager to share knowledge, from attendings to fellows to residents, and enjoys spending time with one another both at work and around C'ville.
Charlottesville has so much to offer both residents and families − the outdoor opportunities are abundant and there is hiking, kayaking, apple picking, or just hanging out at a brewery or vineyard. Our dogs, Stanley and Peter, have also enjoyed the trails and the dog parks. I look forward to meeting each of you as you make your way along the interview trail and am more than happy to answer questions about residency, Charlottesville, or basset hounds!
