Subspecialty Fellowships
The University of
Virginia offers postdoctoral training in Allergy, Cardiology, Critical
Care, Developmental-Behavioral Medicine, Diabetes/Endocrinology,
Neonatology, Nephrology, and Pulmonology. All subspecialty training
programs are certified by ACGME.
The Department of Pediatrics is committed to training pediatricians for careers in academic medicine. Fellowship training in the department includes an opportunity for formal course work in biostatistics, epidemiology, research ethics, and clinical trials design and execution. Fellows may also participate in career development seminars directed at improving grant writing and oral presentations and handouts. All fellows receive a modest travel stipend from the department for attendance at an annual research meeting.
