UVA Inpatient Ward
The UVA Ward team usually meets at 8:30-8:45 AM on 7 Central for general rounds. The medical students will have morning radiology rounds daily from 8-8:30 (details will be provided at the beginning of your rotation.) The Pediatric Ward team is made up of 2 senior residents and 4-5 interns. This team rounds on all general pediatric as well as non-surgical subspecialty patients. During the inpatient rotation, each student will spend one week with the Hematology/Oncology team. This is a separate group that consists of one senior resident and one intern. Each student will also spend one week on night float. The schedule is designed so that each student is paired with an intern and is expected to take night float and day call with that intern. This has been assigned in advance (see below for your schedule), but students are free to switch amongst themselves if needed prior to the first day of the rotation.
