Division of Pediatric Diabetes & Endocrinology

clarke.jpgOur division provides consultation and ongoing care for children with disorders of growth and puberty, and hormonal function, including:

  • Type 1 and Type 2 Diabetes
  • Disorders of the pituitary, thyroid and adrenal glands
  • Polycystic ovarian syndrome
  • Disorders of calcium metabolism
  • Disorders of sexual development


Diagnostics offered include stimulation testing for growth and pubertal disorders.

Comprehensive multidisciplinary care is provided to children with diabetes at the University clinics and at field clinics in Roanoke, Winchester and Fredericksburg.

Clinical Services

Patients are seen by referral only.

Diabetes Clinics

Manages children, adolescents and young adults with diabetes mellitus, emphasizing education and nutrition counseling, and long-term management of insulin-dependent diabetic patients.

Clinic Hours: Thursdays, 8:00 - 4:30
2nd and Last Wednesdays, 8:00 - 2:30
