Dr. Dacus joined the department in August of 2007 after completing a fellowship in hand and upper extremity at the University of California, San Diego. His practice has grown rapidly while covering the majority of the upper extremity trauma, nerve and tendon pathology at the University of Virginia. His practice also  encompasses joint replacement in the hand and elbow. He has initiated a research project to study the problems with tendon healing following repair and hopes to expand to further clinical research in the future. He is actively involved in resident education and looks to become more involved with the School of Medicine in the coming years.
