Alex Kurth, OTR/L – Assistive Technology Specialist - (804)

DC/MD/VA Chapter of the ALS Association to support individuals with
assistive technology for communication, computer access, and
telecommunications. He covers central, southeastern, and

acute speech services at UVA Medical Center. She has experience
in evaluation and treatment of swallowing, speech and language, and
communication disorders in adults with neurologic injuries or

Speech-Language Pathologist, graduated with Masters of Science degree
in Speech and Language Pathology from Indiana University in 2009.
Leslie has been working with adult patients with neurological disorders
and enjoys participating in the ALS Clinic.

Patricia Wilkinson, RRT email
---Respiratory Therapist for the ALS Clinic. Has been at UVA since 1991
serving in many capacities as a Respiratory Therapist.

Jean Sheard, Volunteer-- Responsible for the ALS Functional Rating
scores, as well as providing snacks for patients and their
families. Jean Aids each of the disciplines with any
administrative responsibilities and is a general support for the
clinicians and each of our patients. |

Registered Dietitians (RD): Dietitians that are affiliated with the
UVA Medicine Nutrition Support Team serves our clinic. These same
nutritionists also provide care to patients at the main UVA hospital
and in the digestive health clinic. You may find useful nutrition
information specifically for those with ALS at our website under patient
education materials. As a team of nutritionists work with our ALS
team, contact the ALS nurse coordinator, Debbie Eggleston, for the
correct contact information of the nutritionist providing
coverage. |
