The Huntington's Disease Program
The UVA HD Program offers comprehensive care for patients and families with Huntington's Disease. Individuals who have symptoms of Huntington's Disease can be seen by neurologists who are familiar with the disorder for diagnosis and treatment. A predictive testing program is available for at-risk individuals.
In March 2000, the Huntington's Disease Society of America (HDSA) named the University of Virginia Health System a Center of Excellence for the care of patients with Huntington's Disease (HD) and their families. The UVA HD Program was one of the first ten HDSA Centers of Excellence in the nation and is the only one in Virginia.
