Neurovascular Lab

The Neurovascular Laboratory is a component of the Comprehensive Stroke Center. The lab is accredited and has 15 years' experience conducting noninvasive cerebrovascular evaluations through the following advanced tests:

• Duplex Carotid Scanning
• Continuous Wave Doppler Ultrasonography
• Transcranial Doppler Ultrasonography

The first test allows the physician to determine the flow of blood to the brain through the carotid artery to determine whether a patient is at risk of a stroke. The two ultrasound tests allow the physician to determine and measure the flow of blood throughout the brain. The tests help determine the best course of treatment following a stroke.
