General Information
The goal of subspecialty training at the University of
Virginia is to provide trainees with the tools needed to excel in the
challenges of research, clinical care, and teaching inherent in careers
in academic medicine or private practice. Upon program completion, our
fellows are expected to represent the best in clinical acumen, patient
care, research initiative, and professionalism.
The Department of Medicine provides oversight of programs' compliance with the requirements of the ACGME, the ABIM, and the Graduate Medical Education Committee of the University of Virginia.
In addition, we provide a number of activities and resources for our fellows, described below.
