Thu H. Le, MD: Awarded new NIH R01 grant beginning 04/27/2012
Dr. Thu H. Le, Associate Professor of Medicine, was recently awarded a National Institutes of Health/National Institute of Diabetic and Digestive and Kidney Diseases R01 award for her project entitled “Contribution of Gstm1 to the severity of hypertension and chronic kidney disease”. This project proposes to establish that the direct interaction between a genetic factor (loss of GSTM1) and environmental factors (reactive aldehydes) contribute to the severity and progression of hypertension and chronic kidney disease. The award provides $924,000 in funding for four years.
Dr. Le has also been selected to serve as a regular member of the NIH Genetics of Health and Disease (GHD) Study Section from 2012 through 2018.
