Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) Program
Developed by Dr. Jon
Kabat-Zinn, MBSR is the core program of the Mindfulness Center.
MBSR classes include instruction in meditation, mindful movement, and
other mindfulness practices. These practices remind us to return to the
present moment and increase the opportunity to make conscious choices
rather than react unconsciously. The 8-week course meets for 2.5
hours each week. An all-day silent retreat is also part of the
program. The retreat is an opportunity for participants to
practice the techniques learned in class in a supportive
environment.
