Nutrition Support Education
Outpatient Nutrition Clinic
In our outpatient Nutrition Clinic, dietitians work with physicians to provide nutrition therapy and education for patients with conditions including the following:
|~ celiac disease||~ ostomy hydration management|
|~ enteral tube feeding management||~ pancreatic insufficiency|
|~ evaluation for nutrition support||~ pancreatitis with PEG-J or weight loss|
|~ failure to thrive||~ parenteral nutrition management|
|~ gastrectomies||~ radiation enteritis|
|~ gastroparesis||~ short bowel syndrome|
|~ malabsorptive disorders||~ malnutrition from any cause|
A physician plus nutrition support specialists provide recommendations for enteral tube feedings and parenteral nutrition for patients with malnutrition, malabsorption, metabolic disorders and critical illness. Patients are evaluated for the source of their malnutrition and assessed for specific nutrient deficiencies. The multidisciplinary team also provides state-of-the-art care to all enteral access for difficult-to-nourish patients who previously required parenteral nutrition.
