David A. Peura, MD, Named on Becker’s ASC Review List of 125 Leading Gastroenterologists in America

Congratulations to David A. Peura, MD, Emeritus Professor of Medicine, for being included on Becker’s ASC Review list of the “ 125 of the Leading Gastroenterologists in America.” This list recognizes outstanding gastroenterologists in healthcare organizations across the country, those who are leaders in their field in clinical and research efforts, and further the practice of gastroenterology though hard work, knowledge and dedication.

Dr. Peura was the 100th president of the American Gastroenterological Association (AGA) and chaired its Digestive Health Initiative Ulcer Campaign and its education committee. Last year he won the Julius Friedenwald Medal, the highest honor awarded by the AGA. He has been involved in clinical investigation on acid peptic disorders, particularly peptic ulcer disease, and Helicobacter pylori and its role in ulcer pathogenesis. Congratulations, Dr. Peura.
