Professor of Medicine

The Department of Medicine, Division of Cardiovascular Medicine at the University of Virginia, seeks candidates for a tenure-eligible Associate Professor or tenured Professor of Medicine in Advanced Heart Failure, Transplant, and VAD (Ventricular Assist Device) to join our division. Rank is dependent upon qualification.

The incumbent is responsible for clinical practice focusing on heart failure patients, and also provides clinical instruction to students, residents and cardiovascular fellows. The potential exists for leadership opportunities as well as a significant amount of research support.

Candidates must have a MD or MD/PhD and be board-certified in Cardiovascular Disease. Board-certificated or board-eligible in Advanced Health Failure and Transplant Cardiology is highly desired. Additional training in advanced heart failure, transplant and VAD management is required. Candidates with established programs in clinical, translational, and/or outcomes research are encouraged to apply. Also, candidates with a strong research background and heart failure expertise but without specific training in Cardiac Transplantation or VAD experience will be considered as well.

The Cardiovascular Medicine Division at the University of Virginia School of Medicine seeks an Assistant Professor of Medicine. This tenure-eligible faculty position joins a dynamic, growing academic practice. The incumbent is responsible for clinical practice focusing on heart failure patients, and also provides clinical instruction to students, residents and cardiovascular fellows.

Candidates must have a MD from an accredited university, be board-certified and/or board-eligible in Internal Medicine and Cardiovascular Disease. Those with experience working in an academic cardiovascular medicine clinical practice group, primarily caring for heart failure patient population, are preferred.
