Welcome from the Chief

UVA Division of Asthma, Allergy and Immunology faculty members offer comprehensive evaluation and treatment of asthma and allergies (seasonal, perennial, stinging insect, food, fungal, drug, chemical), as well as respiratory, skin, and immunologic conditions. Along with general clinics, we offer sub-specialty clinics in Immune Deficiency and Eosinophilic Esophagitis, as well as a Combined Allergy and Sinus Clinic, in conjunction with colleagues from other divisions.

In addition to treating patients, our faculty are also making discoveries and conducting cutting-edge research in areas such as immune deficiency, peanut allergy, the role of rhinovirus in asthma, the epidemiology of asthma, and tick-associated delayed anaphylaxis to red meat.  We recently added new faculty members from the National Institute of Health and from Brigham and Women’s Hospital to contribute their expertise to our growing division.
