WE ARE NO LONGER ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS FOR THE 2013-14 FELLOWSHIP PROGRAM.

The University of Virginia Sports Medicine Fellowship is an ACGME accredited program offering one fellowship position each year and is a one year program. The fellowship year is from July 1-June 30; applications are now being accepted for the July 1, 2013 position.

Fellowship Eligibility:

The fellowship is available to all applicants who have successfully completed an accredited US residency training program in one of the following specialties:

·        Family Medicine

·        Internal Medicine

·        Emergency Medicine

·        Pediatrics

·        Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation

The applicant must be board certified or board eligible in their respective field.

A complete application should include: application form, CV, personal statement, photo, USMLE scores and 3 letters of reference. The letters of reference should be sent directly to the program coordinator. The AMSSM Sports Medicine Fellowship application form can be found at http://www.amssm.org/ or Download the application here

The fellow will be selected through a consensus among the Fellowship Director and the Associate Fellowship Directors. The fellowship uses the National Residency Match Program and applicants should register with the match http://www.nrmp.org/ 

Applicaton Deadline:

All application materials should be received by November 1, 2012. The rank list closes on December 19 and match day is January 9, 2013.
