As a program that is constantly striving to improve we have several recent changes and planned changes that you should know about…
We are excited to welcome several new faculty this year. Dr. Latrina Lemon hails from Hampton, Virginia and did her family medicine training at the University of Maryland. Most recently she worked as a very busy hospitalist. Thus is the perfect person to do some re-vamping of our inpatient service as the inpatient medical director.
Dr. Jeremy Kent is a new addition to our sports medicine faculty. He hails from Virginia Beach , and did his medical training at Tripler Army Medical Center. He did his sports medicine fellowship here at UVa, and we are delighted to have him stay on as faculty to help train our residents in musculoskeletal medicine.
Last, but far from least, we’ve welcomed Dr. Elena Herndon within the last year. She trained in Psychiatry at the University of Connecticut, and comes to us most recently from Birmingham, AL. She is seeing patients for consultation and care at our Primary Care Center and Crozet practices.
We are excited to add a new outpatient pediatrics rotation at Johnson Health Center this year. Residents will be working one on one with Pediatrician Jessica Sallwasser and Pediatric Nurse Practitioner Anne Norwood and their colleagues in a busy outpatient practice seeing bread and butter outpatient pediatrics.
Our 4 practices recently received a nearly perfect score on our joint application for PCMH certification. We continue to work to improve the care we provide for patients in our practice and how we train residents in the PCMH model of care.
