Katie Barry, M.D.
I was born in Massachusetts and had lived there almost my entire life before heading south forresidency. I completed my undergraduate training at the College of the Holy Cross, a small liberal arts college in Central Massachusetts. While there, I indulged in the social sciences while completing my pre-medical requirements. I took a year after graduating to conduct sleep research in adolescents before enrolling at the University of Massachusetts for medical school.
While at UMass, I enjoyed volunteering, especially at the free clinic and with the large refugee population. My clinical rotations were all interesting and exciting, but the diversity and patient centered approach of my family medicine rotation drew me in.
Charlottesville and UVA offer so much of what my husband and I love. Not only is the hospital a fun and interesting place to work, but Charlottesville is an exciting place to live. We love trying out new restaurants, enjoying the outdoors, and attending all the local festivals we can!
