Texas A&M University

It's hard to believe I'm entering my third and final year of residency!  They say time flies by when you're having fun...

I've absolutely loved my time here in Family Medicine at UVA and am planning to make the most of my third year.  I remember well the interview trail, trying to find the right place. Discovering many wonderful programs along the way, UVA impressed me like no other program.  The one thing that drew me here the most were the people. The residents here are a close-knit family, in a very family-friendly and supportive environment. Our faculty are also like family, and I am proud to know them.

Our program focuses on evidence-based medicine, academic strength, and a well-balanced versatility. We have the International Family Medicine Clinic which provides care for refugees of many nations, and the Mindfulness Center which focuses on the holistic approach to well-being. Our faculty are great role models, active publishers in peer journals, and always available to the residents. They go out of their way to ensure our professional and personal growth.

A little about me - I'm a proud Texas Aggie for both undergrad and medical school.  While in Texas, I met my amazing husband, Daniel, and we married in 2005.  We have fallen in love with this area and hope to settle here for some time to come.  We have three adorable cats who are always getting into trouble but keep us greatly entertained!

I wish you the best in your residency search and I hope you strongly consider UVA. Please feel free to email me at cnw9k@virginia.edu if you have any questions.  Good luck!
