Assistant Professor
Inpatient Medical Director

After spending my undergraduate years here at UVA, I ventured to Richmond to attend medical school at Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine (a.k.a.  MCV).  I then moved to Baltimore, MD for residency training at University of Maryland, where I also served as Chief Resident.  Prior to joining this wonderful department, I worked as a Hospitalist which fed my desire to focus on care of the acutely ill patient and transitions to their PCP’s. I started to miss the component of being a Family doc that involves managing chronic conditions and caring for generations of family members.  I was fortunate enough to have the opportunity to join the faculty in the UVA Family Medicine department which allows me to do both, along with teaching residents and medical students.

I enjoy being back in Charlottesville not only for the diversity of the population but also for the sense of family that is promoted within our department here at UVA.  I have career interests in healthcare administration, adolescent medicine and care of the hospitalized patient.
