As the youngest of
eleven children, I learned to appreciate the importance of family and
the impact of illness on an entire generation. This led me to a career
in Family Medicine, where I could watch children grow, and care for
their parents and grandparents, alike. After completing undergraduate,
medical school, and residency at UVA, the opportunity to stay as
faculty seemed ideal. As part of the Department of Family Medicine, I
function primarily as a clinician, but also find time to teach medical
students and residents. Outside of the office, I enjoy spending time
with my husband, Demetrious, and our children, Raquel and
Joshua.
