The purpose of this course is to help fellows develop an understanding of a wide range of factors affecting the professional life of an academic physician. Topics are wide ranging and include, but are not limited to:

  • Preparing for and conducting a job search
  • Understanding promotion and tenure
  • Utilizing a performance management process for professional and personal development
  • Interacting with the media
  • Population health in an academic medical center
  • Understanding ACOs
  • Managing your on-line identity
  • Conducting literature reviews and managing information
  • Developing posters
