Professional Development and Socialization

The overall purpose of the course is to help fellows develop personal awareness, investigate professional development, and look at the interaction between the two.

As a part of the course, fellows have the opportunity to:

  • Prepare for the search for positions and careers in academic family medicine
  • Investigate the process for promotion and tenure in an academic institution
  • Develop awareness and understanding of their personality types and leadership styles
  • Use the Supervisory Process for professional and personal development
