Information Mastery and Evidence-Based Medicine II

This course is designed to develop expertise in:
(1) scanning the primary and secondary literature to identify relevant information.(2) critically appraising the relevant primary and secondary literature (determining validity and assigning appropriate Levels of Evidence or LOE ratings).
(3) succinctly summarizing useful new information.
(4) making appropriate clinical recommendations based on the integration of new information with established clinical practice.

Fellows will be expected to write several POEMs (Patient-Oriented Evidence that Matters) suitable for publication and to teach an Information Mastery module to faculty and residents.
