Career Opportunities in Family Medicine at the University of Virginia School of Medicine

The Department of Family Medicine at the University of Virginia seeks candidates for a tenure-ineligible Sports/Family Medicine faculty position. The incumbent will provide clinical care to Sports/Family Medicine patients, teach residents, fellows, and medical students, and participate in scholarly activities. Administrative responsibilities also include participating in the Department, Medical School, and the UVA Health System's committee structure, and assisting in other areas as requested by the Department Chair. The incumbent will be expected to develop lectures or workshops for presentation to faculty, residents, fellows, and medical students. Direct patient care may include patient care in our Family Medicine Clinic in the Primary Care Center, Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, and Athletic Training Room. Patient care in the Family Medicine Clinic may include prenatal and post-partum care of patients and supervision of residents. Rank is dependent upon experience.

Candidates must have an MD or DO and be board-certified or board-eligible by start date by a medical specialty which is eligible to apply for a Certificate of Added Qualifications in Sports Medicine. Preference will be given to candidates that have experience in: Sports Medicine; Family Medicine; Physical Rehabilitation; Athletic Training Room; and working with Sports Medicine Fellowship Programs.
