The Department of Family Medicine at the University of Virginia
seeks candidates for a tenure-ineligible Assistant/Associate Professor
position. The incumbent will serve as outpatient Medical
Director, who is responsible for overseeing clinic operations,
provider staffing, quality improvement, and scheduling. The incumbent
also provides patient care to Family Medicine patients including
inpatient and outpatient care; prenatal, and post-partum care and
teaching and supervision of residents, fellows, and medical students.
Obstetrical care experience preferred. Administrative responsibilities
include participating in the UVa Health System's committee structure,
which encompasses the Department of Family Medicine, the School of
Medicine and the Medical Center, and assisting in other areas as
requested by the Department Chair. The incumbent is expected to develop
lectures or workshops for presentation to the faculty, residents,
fellows, and medical students. Rank is dependent upon experience.
Candidates must have an MD or DO and be board-certified or board-eligible by the American Board of Family Medicine by the start date. Preference will be given to candidates that have leadership experience as a clinical Medical Director; large group practice experience; experience with team-based care models, electronic medical records (EMR), quality improvement methodology; and familiarity with Patient-Centered Medical Home (PCMH) principles.
