The Department of Family Medicine at the University of Virginia is leading change in our Health System with team-based care models, patient care quality improvement initiatives, and process improvement efforts to increase patient safety and operational efficiency. We have a department-wide NCQA certification as a Patient Centered Medical Home.

We are seeking candidates for a full-time tenure-ineligible Assistant/Associate Professor position. This position includes responsibilities as Inpatient Medical Director. The incumbent will be responsible for direct patient care, to include inpatient and outpatient care, and teaching and supervision of residents and medical students. Direct patient care includes prenatal and post-partum care of patients. Preference will be given to candidates that have clinical practice, inpatient service experience, residency program management and teaching experience.

Candidates must have an MD or DO and be board-certified or board-eligible by either the American Board of Family Medicine or the American Osteopathic Board of Family Physicians by the start date. Position may be eligible to convert to tenure-track at an appropriate time in the future, consistent with SOM Promotion and Tenure guidelines and candidate qualifications.
